Why does my Android device disconnect from the WKU Wi-Fi due to slow connection?

Environment

  • Android device

Cause

Some Android devices detect that the wireless network it is connected to is slower than using mobile data (4G or 5G). Android will automatically switch to mobile data when this occurs.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Connections.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the 3-dot menu  
  5. Tap Intelligent Wi-Fi
  6. Toggle Switch to mobile data.
