Can I set a word count limit for assignments or assessments?

There is currently no way to set limits involving word count in Blackboard, whether for a minimum word count or a maximum word count. The Blackboard text editor displays a running word count in the bottom-right corner of the editor. If the instructor of the course wishes for the assignment or assessment to have a word count limit, the student will need to be informed of this ahead of time and pay attention to their word count total when submitting the assignment or assessment.
Note: If the instructor wishes to check the word count of a submitted assignment or assessment, they can copy/paste the body into a Blackboard text editor (such as a student feedback field) or into a word processing application such as Microsoft Word.
