Deleting an Asset

How do I delete an asset I no longer need?

Environment

Resolution

Deleted assets cannot be recovered. Not even if the recycle bin is enabled for a site. Pages that are subscribed to this asset will be affected, be prepared to take note of which pages are affected by the deleted asset.
  1. Log into Web CMS.
  2. Hover over Content
  3. Click Assets.
  4. Locate the asset to be deleted by using the All Types drop down menu to narrow down selection, or using the Filter.
  5. Hover over the file Name and mouse over to the File drop down menu, click Delete.
    Note: Deleted assets cannot be recovered.
  6. An alert window will ask if you are sure you want to delete this asset. 
  7. There will also be an alert listing any pages that have dependencies that will be broken by deleting this asset.
    Note: Take note of these pages in order to update them by removing the broken asset link from the page.
  8. Once deletion has been confirmed, the asset is deleted.
