Allow Permissions for Zoom Desktop Client for Mac

Issue/Question

How do I allow permissions for Zoom Desktop Client for Mac?

Environment

  • Zoom
  • MacOS

Resolution

When using Zoom on macOS, you may be prompted to allow access to certain system permissions.

Zoom may request access to the following:

  • Camera – required to share video in a meeting or webinar.
  • Microphone – required to join audio in a meeting or webinar.
  • Screen Recording – required to share your screen.
  • Files and Folders – required to share files in chat or save local recordings.
  • Accessibility – required to use remote control features.

Click Allow when prompted to enable these features in Zoom.

If you previously selected Don’t Allow, or if features are not working, you can manually enable access:

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions)
  2. Select Privacy & Security
  3. Choose the appropriate category (Camera, Microphone, Screen Recording, etc.)
  4. Locate Zoom in the list.
  5. Toggle on access.
  6. Repeat as needed for other categories.

Note: Changes may require restarting Zoom for permissions to take effect.
