Installing SAS

Issue/Question

How do I install SAS?

Environment

  • Windows
There is not a version available for Macintosh. Please access SAS via your web browser.

Resolution

  1. Click SharePoint link.  If prompted, log in using your WKU-issued email (Exchange or TopperMail) and password with multi-factor authentication
  2. Click the SAS file.
  3. Click Download and choose a location you can find easily.
Note: This is a very large file and may take a while if you are on a slower connection.
  4. Extract the downloaded file by double-clicking; however, if you get an error when you double-click you may need a program to extract all the files from this download, such as 7-Zip, which is a free software. If you do not have 7-Zip, please download and install this software before continuing.
Note: This will take some time to complete as SAS is a very large program.
  5. Extract this file to a location you can easily find.
  6. Once extracted, open the folder containing the file and double click the setup.exe file to run it.
  7. You should see the Choose Language window; select your preferred language
  8. Click OK

  20. Click Next
  21. The SAS installation data file should already be configured with a predetermined Expiration Date
  22. Click Next
  23. Choose to Select All Languages or Clear All to only select English.
  24. Click Next
  25. Click Next to leave default Regional Settings
  26. Click Next to leave default Host Name and Port Number
  27. Click Next to leave default Port number and security preferences
  28. Allow time for SAS to check system requirements.
  29. Click Next
  30. Click Start to begin the installation process.
