Discussion Board Submission Error

Issue/Question

When I try to submit a discussion board post I get an error that my message cannot be saved.

Cause

The account has been idle too long, causing Blackboard to log out without prompt/notification.

Resolution

1. Click the Sign Out button to return to the login page.
2. Enter your NetID and NetID password. 
3. Sign in.
4. Return to the discussion board section where you created the post.
5. Switch to the Tree View to see if the post was able to be saved/submitted. If not, you will need to create a new thread.
6. To avoid another idle logout, if it will be a lengthy post, compose your message in an outside program, such as Microsoft Word, then copy and paste the content into the Message box.
