How do I download and open a compressed/zipped file?

In your browser, right-click the
link
and choose
Save Link As...
or
Download Linked File As...
.
Open
Finder
to where the file was saved. Safari automatically unzips the file. For other browsers, double-click the file to unzip it.
A new folder will appear containing the contents of the zip file.
