Finding Missing Sent Items

Issue/Question

Emails that I have sent are not showing in my Sent folder.

Resolution

Within Outlook, verify the following settings:

  1. Click File, and then Options.
  2. In the Outlook Options dialog, click Mail.
  3. Under the Save messages section
    1. Ensure the When replying to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder option is not checked, and
    2. Ensure the Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder option is checked.
  4. Click OK.

Use the search box and the dropdown option for All Outlook Items to find the missing messages. If desired, move the messages to the correct folder.
