Pages Numbering Incorrectly

Issue/Question

My document has automatic page numbering enabled but the page count is incorrect.

Cause

This generally occurs when the document has multiple sections and the metadata in the sections is corrupted.

Resolution

1. Open the document.
2. Locate where the incorrect page numbering begins.
3. Right-click the page number.
4. Select Format Page Numbers... .
5. Select Start at: and enter the correct page number.
6. The remainder of the document will update accordingly.
