Embedded YouTube Videos Give No Network Connection Error

Issue/Question

When I try and play YouTube videos embedded in my PowerPoint presentation I get a message that states I have no network connection and the video fails to play.

Environment

• PowerPoint 2016

Resolution

1. Save the presentation you are working on. 
2. Close PowerPoint. 
3. Right-click PowerPoint. 
4. Select Run As Administrator. 
5. Open the presentation that was previously giving you the network connection error. 
6. The video should now play. 
7. Save the presentation again. 
8. Close PowerPoint. 
9. When opening PowerPoint normally, the video should now continue to play as expected.
