When will my Windows computer be updated?
Environment
Resolution
You do not have to take action, updates are applied automatically as follows.
Microsoft generally releases Windows updates the second Tuesday of each month.
- WKU ITS immediately applies updates to machines used by TSS employees.
- If TSS experiences no issues within three days, updates distributed to student worker computers across campus.
- If no issues are reported after another four days (7 days total after initial release), updates delivered to all managed devices.
If an update requires a computer restart, it will occur automatically between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Friday. To avoid a restart, please make sure your windows computer is fully updated before Friday at midnight.
