Securing Compromised Exchange Account

Issue/Question

I think that my account has been compromised. What do I do?

Cause

The account may have been compromised and malicious activity may have happened with the Exchange account.

Resolution

  1. Reset your NetID password immediately.
  2. Log into your email.
  3. Click Options.
  4. Select Create Inbox Rule....
  5. Delete any malicious rules that you did not set up.
  6. Contact the ITS Service Desk immediately to report your compromised Exchange account.

Report all compromised Exchange accounts by filling out the ticket template Accounts > Compromised Account > Exchange and route to Routing Group - Security & Identity Management.
