Disabling Messaging on Blackboard Course Sites

Issue/Question

I am receiving message notifications from students on my Blackboard Site. How do I prevent this from happening?

Environment

  • Blackboard

Resolution

  1. Log into Blackboard. 
  2. Navigate to the course where you wish to disable course messages. 
  3. Click Course Settings in the upper-right corner. 
  4. Within Course Tools section, select toggle for Allow course messages to OFF. This will disable the course messaging feature in the given course, and messages will be sent via email only.
