Adding a Non-WKU TA to a WKU Blackboard Course Site

Issue/Question

I am teaching a course for WKU but am employed by another institution (UofL or UK). I would like to add my Non-WKU Teaching Assistant to my WKU Blackboard course site.

Resolution

The Non-WKU TA will need a WKUID created for them by Human Resources. Once the WKUID is created, WKU ITS can create a corresponding TopperMail account and Blackboard Account.

  1. The ITS Service Desk, once contacted, will create a ticket with the Non-WKU Professor as the Requestor. The ITS Service Desk will need this information from the Non-WKU Professor:
    • WKU Department Head's contact information the Non-WKU Professor is teaching for
    • Non-WKU TA's information:
      • Full Name
      • Date of Birth
      • Email Address
      • Phone Number
  2. The ITS Service Desk will need to have the Department Head contact Human Resources. The Department Head will need to provide the following information about the Non-WKU TA:
    • Full Name
    • Date of Birth
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
  3. Human Resources will then create a WKUID for the Non-WKU TA and send that information to the Department Head.
  4. The ITS Service Desk will follow up with the Department Head to get the Non-WKU TA's WKUID.
  5. Once ITS has created the TopperMail account the Blackboard account will be automatically created.
  6. The ITS Service Desk will then contact the Non-WKU Professor and assist them with adding the Non-WKU TA as a TA in the Blackboard course.
