Customizing Finder Window Size for Specific Folders

Issue/Question

How do I make Finder stay a specific size for a folder?

Cause

When a folder is accessed, it inherits the size of whatever Finder window was last opened.

Resolution

  1. Open a new Finder window.
  2. Navigate to the folder that contains the folder you want to have a specific size.
  3. Right-click the folder you want to have a specific size.
  4. Select Make Alias.
  5. A shorcut to the folder will be created.
  6. Double-click the shortcut.
  7. The folder will appear in a new Finder window.
  8. Resize the window as desired.
  9. Close the window.
  10. If desired, you can rename the shortcut and move it to a different location, e.g. the Desktop.

Whenever you open the shortcut to the folder, it will appear in a new Finder window and keep the size it had the last time it was opened.
