Mapping Z:\ (MapToCEC)

Issue/Question

How do I map the Z:\ on my computer?

Cause

The Z:\ is a custom shared drive that is used by the CEC in conjunction with the Communications Sciences & Disorders department. Those needing access will need to be added to the appropriate Active Directory groups first.

Resolution

If you are off campus you must first sign into the WKU VPN in order to access the Z:\. You can find instructions for that process here.

Windows Instructions

  1. Open the Windows  button in the lower left corner.
  2. Type This PC
  3. Press Enter
  4. Click the Computer tab.
  5. Click Map network drive.
  6. Select Z: drive.
  7. Enter \\fscluster2.ad.wku.edu\lab-cec-clinic
Note: If you are on a personal computer, check the box for using different credentials. When prompted, enter your WKU NetID and password. If you are on a WKU-imaged computer, you may skip this step.
  8. Click Finish.

Mac Instructions

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Click Go.
  3. Click Connect to server...
  4. Type in smb://fscluster2.ad.wku.edu/lab-cec-clinic.
  5. Click the plus (+) button.
  6. Select smb://fscluster2.ad.wku.edu/shared.
  7. Click Connect.
  8. Type in your WKU NetID and password.
