Software Center Missing Application(s)

Issue/Question

I cannot find an application that should be listed in the Software Center app.

Cause

The Software Center is periodically updated with new applications. Missing apps indicate the Software Center has not been updated yet.

Resolution

The Software Center can be updated manually:

  1. Quit the Software Center app.
  2. Click  Start.
  3. Search for and open Control Panel.
  4. Ensure View by is set to Large icons or Small icons.
  5. Open Configuration Manager.
  6. Select the Actions tab.
  7. Select Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle.
  8. Click Run Now.
  9. Note the message that it will take a few minutes for the cycle to finish running. Click OK.
  10. Select Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle.
  11. Click Run Now.
  12. Note the message that it will take a few minutes for the cycle to finish running. Click OK.
  13. Within approximately 5 minutes, both cycles should finish.
  14. Open the Software Center app and verify the expected app(s) appear.
