Creating a Test in Blackboard

How do I create and deploy a test in Blackboard?

Resolution

Respondus version 4.0 is not fully supported for use with Blackboard Ultra courses – certain features are not available.
  1. Open Ultra course.
  2. Enter Course Content area where you would like the test.
  3. Click .
  4. Select Create.
  5. Select Test.
  6. Click default test title to name your test.
  7. Click to choose how to add questions to your test. There are several options, including but not limited to:
    • Add question pool
    • Add Calculated Formula question
    • Add Essay question
    • Add Multiple Choice question
    • Add True/False question
    • Reuse questions
    • Upload questions from file
  8. Click to open Assessment Settings menu to right. Note and configure the following settings as needed:
    • Details & Information (Due date/No due date, Prohibit late submissions, Prohibit new attempts after due date) 
    • Presentation Options (Prohibit backtracking, Randomize)
    • Formative Tools
    • Grading & Submissions (Grade category, Attempts allowed, Grade using points/percentage, Anonymous & delegated grading)
    • Assessment Results (Submission View, Automated Question Feedback, etc.)
    • Assessment Security (Access code, Respondus)
    • Additional Tools (Time limit, Goals & Standards, Assigned groups, SafeAssign Originality Report)

  9. Click Save to save changes made in this menu.
  10. New tests are hidden from students by default. Click  Hidden from students drop-down (top right) to change.
