Dock Keeps Crashing

Issue/Question

My Mac keeps prompting an error:

com.apple.dock.extra quit unexpectedly

Cause

This occurs occasionally when a plugin for the dock becomes corrupted.

Resolution

The default dock will need to be recreated by macOS.

1. Click Finder.
2. Click Go.
3. Select Go to Folder... .
4. Enter ~/Library .
5. Click Go.
6. Open Preferences.
7. Locate com.apple.dock.plist.
8. Move the file to the Trash.
9. Restart the computer.
