Why is the Blackboard exam I need to take asking for a password?

Resolution
ITS Service Desk staff do not have access to provide Blackboard exam passwords or reset attempts. This information is solely within the instructor's ability & discretion to provide.
If your instructor has asked you to take the assessment in Respondus LockDown Browser, you will need to install the LockDown Browser application. Installation instructions can be found here.
After installation:
- Blackboard Original: For exams in Blackboard Original courses, you must manually launch LockDown Browser and access the exam from within the application. The assessment will not ask for the password when accessed through LockDown Browser.
- Blackboard Ultra: For exams in Blackboard Ultra courses, LockDown Browser will automatically launch once the exam is started from Blackboard.
If your instructor has not asked you to take the exam in Respondus LockDown Browser or you are taking the exam in a Blackboard Ultra course, you will need to contact your instructor to obtain the password.
