Issue/Question
How do I add questions to a pool from an existing test?
Explanation
Instructors can use pools to store questions for later use. Questions created outside a of pool are not automatically stored in a pool, which limits their ability for reuse. It is however possible to add pre-existing questions to a pool.
Resolution
This article assumes that a new test pool has already been created; if you have not created the new pool, do so before following these instructions.
- Open your Blackboard Course Site.
- In the Course Management section, expand the Control Panel.
- Expand the Course Tools section, then click Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
- Click Pools.
- Click the Options button next to the pool you would like to add questions to, then click Edit.
- Click the Find Questions button on the toolbar.
- Click Tests. All tests within the course site should now be listed.
- Click the checkbox next to the test you want to pull questions from. Questions should appear under Question Display.
- Click the checkbox next to the questions you want to save; if all questions need to be saved, click the checkbox at the top next to Question Text.
- Click Submit.
- You should now see the test pool populated with the test questions you selected.
Note: It is recommended to create a separate pool for every set of test questions (i.e. a pool for quiz 1, a pool for quiz 2). Failure to do so may cause issues is trying to add questions to a test from a pool via Random Block.
