Changing the Language macOS Uses

How do I change the language used by my computer?

Environment

  • macOS

Resolution

  1. Click the  Apple menu in the upper-left corner.
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Click Language & Region.
  4. Click .
  5. Locate and click the desired language.
  6. Click Add.
  7. When prompted, select the desired language as the macOS primary language.
  8. If prompted, select the input source(s) you want to add, if you have a corresponding keyboard, and click Add Input Source.
    Note: A prompt will not appear if the language does not have a corresponding input source.
