Uninstalling a Device from Device Manager

Issue/Question

I have a device/driver that is not working currently, how do I uninstall it so I can work on a clean slate?

Resolution

  1. Click the icon and type Device Manager.
  2. Select Device Manager from the list of applications.
  3. Find the device under the category it belongs to.
  4. Right-click on the device and select Uninstall device
  5. After the device is uninstalled, Right-click any other device and select Scan for hardware changes
  6. The device should appear on the list again and have its basic driver installed now as a baseline.
