Issue/Question
After installing Cisco Secure Client, I receive a message about filtering network activity:
"Cisco Secure Client Socket Filter" Would Like to Filter Network Content
All network activity on this Mac may be filtered or monitored.
Environment
Cause
Cisco created the Secure Client VPN app that includes filtering components used by some industries and organizations to ensure certain websites are blocked or confidential/top-secret information is not accessed by a bad actor.
Resolution
WKU does not use the Cisco Secure Client filters to restrict access, so your choice to Allow or Don't Allow has no impact on using the VPN app at WKU; however, if you choose Don't Allow, you will continue to periodically receive prompts to reconfirm. ITS recommends selecting Allow.

Note: If you choose Don't Allow, the VPN app will periodically prompt for approval or denial of the filters. ITS recommends selecting Allow to avoid these periodic prompts.
