Dock Appearing on the Wrong Screen

Issue/Question

My dock appears on a secondary monitor.

Environment

• macOS

Cause

macOS  Mavericks (10.9) and above allow the dock to show on any monitor. The move is triggered when the mouse cursor is held at the bottom of one of the monitors.

Resolution

To disable this feature:

1. Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen; select System Preferences.
2. Click Mission Control.
3. Clear the box for Displays have separate Spaces.
4. Restart the computer.
