iPad & Chromebook Use for Respondus LockDown Browser

Issue/Question

How do I allow students the ability to take a test with an iPad or Chromebook for the Respondus LockDown Browser?

Environment

  • Blackboard Ultra
  • iOS
  • Chromebook

Resolution

If a test is copied to a new course from a previous course where Lockdown Browser was required, Chromebook & iPad users will encounter errors. Instructors will need to launch Lockdown Browser Dashboard in the new course before iPad and Chromebook users can take the test.

By default, all exams administered via LockDown Browser have iPad & Chromebook access enabled. There is no way to prevent students from accessing their exam through LockDown Browser via an iPad or Chromebook. Respondus Monitor does not support screen recording with iPads.
