Invalid Institution ID Configured

Issue/Question

When I try to install the LockDown Browser on my Mac, I get an error:

Invalid institution id configured

Environment

• macOS

Cause

The name of the installer contains WKU's institution id from Respondus. If the installer is renamed, this error can occur.

Resolution

1. Open the Applications folder.
2. If an outdated or incompatible version of LockDown Browser is already installed, drag it to the Trash.
3. Open the Downloads folder.
4. Move all files related to LockDown Browser to the Trash or another location.
5. Download LockDown Browser again. Reference this article for assistance.
