How do I change my default mail app on my Mac?
Environment
macOS
Resolution
Open
Mail
.
From the
Mail menu
, select
Preferences
.
Click
General
.
Choose the desired default email application from the pop-up menu.
Note:
If the desired email app is already set, the settings will need to be cleared:
Select Apple's
Mail
app from the menu, then quit the Mail app.
Open
Mail
and return to the
Preferences
window.
Switch the default email application back to the desired app.
If this setting does not stay set please contact the
ITS Service Desk
.
