Adding an Access Code on a Mac For Ricoh MPS Printers

I need to input the access code for my department's Ricoh printer.

  • macOS

  1. Open Word.
  2. Open or create a document.
  3. Click File.
  4. Select Print... .
  5. Select the MPS Ricoh printer.
  6. Expand Printer Options.
  7. Click  (info) for the Job Log menu.
  8. Click  Enable User Code.
  9. Enter your department's assigned User Code.
  10. Click the Presets drop-down menu.
  11. Select Save Current Settings as Preset... .
  12. Enter an easily identifiable name.
  13. Click OK.
Note: The preset must be active in order for the user code to be sent to the printer. If a job fails to print, ensure the preset is active and the user code is correct.
  14. Click Print.

Note: Some applications, such as Chrome and Adobe Acrobat/Reader do not use presets in their print dialog. The system dialog must be accessed from within their print dialogs to activate the stored preset. Please see this article for further information.
