How do I remove an app installer on my desktop?
Cause
Installers appear on the desktop when opening a DMG (disk image) file, allowing the operating system to verify the contents of the file before placing the app in the Applications folder or another location on the computer.
Resolution
- Drag the desktop icon for the installer to the (Trash) in your dock.
- Locate the original DMG file, generally in your Downloads folder and drag it to the (Trash) in your dock.
