Missing Assessments After Course Copy

Issue/Question

I did a course copy, but my tests and quizzes are not listed in the new course.

Cause

Tests will only be deployed after a course copy if you chose the correct options which requires choosing the Content Area where the test was originally deployed, Grade Center Columns and Settings, and Tests, Surveys, and Pools. If all three of the aforementioned areas are not checked during a course copy, the tests will copy but will not be deployed.

Environment

  • Blackboard
    • Original View Courses

Resolution

First, verify that the tests exist in the destination course.

  1. In the Control Panel, click Course Tools.
  2. Click Tests, Survey, and Pools.
  3. Click Tests.
  4. Verify the existence of tests.

If the tests are present, you will need to deploy them.

  1. Navigate to the content area where you wish to deploy the test.
  2. Put your mouse over Assessments, then select Test.
  3. In the Add an Existing Test section, select the test you wish to deploy, and then click Submit.
  4. Complete the Test Options and click Submit.

If the tests are not present, then you will need to perform another Course Copy.

  1. Click the course from which you wish to copy.
  2. In the Control Panel, click Packages and Utilities.
  3. Click Course Copy.
  4. Select the Course ID that you want to copy to by clicking the Browse... button.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Select the material you want copied. Be sure to select the Content Area where the test was deployed, Grade Center Columns and Settings, and Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
  7. Click Submit.
