How can I send a print job from my personal device to an on-campus Student Technology Center (STC) printer?

Resolution
Only current faculty, staff, and students are eligible to use printers in a Student Technology Center; alumni and retirees are
ineligible.
You must be on the WKU network, such as WKU-SECURE WiFi or using an ethernet connection or connected to the WKU VPN, in order to access the WKU printers and the information contained below.
Some third party VPN or firewall apps/software can interfere with your device being able to see or use these printers. If you experience any issues, try temporarily turning off or disabling such software.
- Download Mobility Print for your Windows device.
- Open the Mobility Print download file.
- Set language to English.
- Click I accept the agreement.
- Click Next.
- Select RicohPrinters [Virtual Queue].
- Click Next.
- Enter NetID as username and NetID password as password.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Open the document you need to print.
- In the Printer list, select RicohPrinters [Virtual Queue] (Mobility) printer.
- Click Print.
- Go to any Student Technology Centers open lab printer and swipe WKUID card.
Note: Make sure the bar code on your WKUID is facing you when you swipe.
- Select the print job.
- Click Print.
- Download Mobility Print from your Android device by pressing Install Mobility Print.
- Press Install.
- Open the Mobility Print app.
- You will be prompted to allow notifications, click Allow.
- Tap the button labelled Tap here and check the Mobility Print Service is on.
- Ensure that Mobility Print is set to On.
- Close the app and then navigate to the document that needs to be printed.
- Select Print or Share and then Print.
- A print preview will display. Change the toggle at the top to Ricoh Printers Virtual Queue.
Note: If RicohPrinters Virtual Queue does not appear as an option, select All printers... and then select RicohPrinters Mobility Print - VirtualQueue.
- Press the Print button.
- You will be notified that you are using Mobility Print for this document. Select OK.
- A notification titled Your job needs authentication will appear. Press this notification to open it.
- You will now be prompted to log into Mobility Print. Log in using your NetID and NetID password.
- Press Sign In and Print.
- You will receive another notification informing you that your document has printed successfully.
- Go to any Student Technology Centers open lab printer and swipe WKUID card.
Note: Make sure the bar code on your WKUID is facing you when you swipe.
- Select the print job.
- Tap Print.
- Access Mobility Print from your Chromebook.
- Click Add Mobility Print to Chrome.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Click Add app.
Note: If you are signed into a Google account, you may be prompted to sign in with your Google Account credentials.
- Open the document that needs to be printed.
- Select Print, or press Ctrl+P to print your document.
- A print preview will display. Change the Destination to RicohPrinters – [Virtual Queue].
Note: If RicohPrinters – [Virtual Queue] does not appear as an option, select See more... and then select RicohPrinters – [VirtualQueue] Virtual Queue.
- Click Print.
- Go to any Student Technology Centers open lab printer and swipe WKUID card.
Note: Make sure the bar code on your WKUID is facing you when you swipe.
- Select the print job.
- Tap Print.
Please make sure your iPhone/iPad is updated to at least version
17.2. Some versions of iOS/iPadOS (specifically 16.6.x to 17.1.x) have an issue where the printer does not show up. Follow the
Updating iOS article to update your device to at least version
17.2 and the issue should be resolved.
- Open the document you need to print.
- Click the Share icon.
- Click Print.
- Click Printer.
- Select ricohprinters.
- Sign in with your NetID and password.
- Click Print.
- Go to any Student Technology Centers open lab printer and swipe WKUID card.
Note: Make sure the bar code on your WKUID is facing you when you swipe.
- Select the print job.
- Click Print.
- Open System Preferences.
- Click Printers and Scanners.
- Click plus icon.
- Select RicohPrinters[VirtualQueue](Mobility).
- Check that the Use box is set to Secure Airprint. If it's not, close the dialog, disconnect and reconnect to the network, then go back to Step 2.
- Click Add.
- Open the document you'd like to print.
- Enter NetID as the username and NetID password as password.
Note: Your machine username may appear automatically, you'll need to change to your NetID in the username box. If you do not receive a pop-up to enter your credentials, proceed with the following steps to remove the printer. Then, add the printer again.
- Click Apple menu item icon.
- Select System Preferences... .
- Click Printers & Scanners icon.
- Select the printer in the left pane.
- Click Delete printer icon.
- Go to any Student Technology Centers open lab printer and swipe WKUID card.
Note: Make sure the bar code on your WKUID is facing you when you swipe.
- Select the print job.
- Click Print.
